When I first brainstormed for the prompt “fascination,” I wrote down everything that I am intrigued and passionate about. The first idea that came about was music. Musicians have a special talent. They are able to express themselves in a special language that not everyone is able to understand. Music tells stories. It expresses emotions. Sometimes, the only way people know how to express themselves or be honest is through music.

In my photo, I showcased this idea through a long exposure. A long exposure is when a longer shutter speed is used in order to blur movement. I used a three second shutter speed. By using a long exposure, I am able to visually capture the story the musician is telling. Each note that is played in the song is exhibited in the photo. I decided to use a violin because it is, in my opinion, the instrument that creates the most beautiful music. Also, it is amazing to watch people play the violin. The graceful movements of the arm create a dance to the song being played. This worked well in the long exposure because the audience can follow along with each stroke of the strings.
