Strongest Photo
Represents Me

This photo is a double exposure film shot. The roll of film was shot once, then was rolled back up. New photos were shot over the original ones to create a new photograph.
The formal qualities that make this photo strong is the composition, frame within a frame. The audiences eye if first drawn to the big hole in the ground, but then they see the subject. This gives the photo a focus for the audience to look for. Also, the position of the subject is appealing. The subject is slightly off center, which makes the photo more interesting.
The conceptual qualities that make this photo strong is the abstract component to it. There was no way to plan out how this photo was going to come out because there was no way to tell what photo was being shot over. I think this photo works well because every detail was not planned out. The audience can interpret the photo any way they want to.
This photo best represents me because I find a lot on inspiration in creepy themes. This word of the week was "psychotic." I find words like these really fun to make and easy to generate ideas for. Dark themes like this one also allow me to showcase photoshop skills that I would not normally use in lighter, happier words.
The concept of this photo also represents me. I have a strong passion for psychology and neurological disorders, so much that it could be a possible careers path for me in the future. The main idea behind this photo is Dissociative Identity Disorder, or more commonly known as Multiple Personality Disorder. Having a psychological disorder as the focus behind the artwork showcases the enthusiasm I have for behavioral sciences.
